Call It Out is a podcast led by students from Sacred Heart College and St Joseph’s College in Geelong. Listening through the lens of young people the podcast episodes are an insightful journey into contemporary issues impacting them. Discussing themes such as gender equality, unhealthy masculinity, everyday sexism, healthy relationships and consent, we are given an intimate invitation into what young people think.

In 2022 Consent Labs, a NFP who delivers consent education in Australia started a Government petition to push the Classification Board to 'Classify Consent' because 3 out of 5 people in Australia are unable to recognise non-consensual acts in popular films and tv. Just like warnings for violence and course language, a lack of consent warning would give opportunity to recognise the lack of consent and make informed choices about what they are watching. Jane Gilmore, author, journalist, feminist, and consent educator started the FixedIt campaign in 2014 on the back of a post she made on Twitter which gained a huge and unexpected response. She has always been driven by a need to change the way media reports on men’s violence against women and suddenly she had stumbled on a way that had an impact. She has since published a book based on her ongoing work with the FixedIt campaign and Georgia, Alex and Destiny were very fortunate to interview her about the important work she does in prevention of gendered violence.

The man box is a set of rules or rigid societal expectations on what a man should be. In the following interviews we learn that living by these rigid expectations doesn't equate to healthy masculinity and that by being vulnerable, in touch with our feelings, not aligning with unhealthy behaviours and showing love and care you can have a far more positive impact on yourself and others.
